The Country Camp Song

The Country Camp Song

… years ago on a cold dark night
the Schlapkohls realized something wasn’t right.
Few were at the scene but they all did agree
to start a camp out in the country.

Country Camp, where children run free.
Country Camp, where I long to be.
No other camp will ever be
what Country Camp means to me.

Chicks, pigs, and sheep, and a pond down low,
if you love animals, then it’s the place to go.
Purple martins soar and cows roam along,
goats like to climb and listen to this song.

Country Camp, where children run free.
Country Camp, where I long to be.
No other camp will ever be
what Country Camp means to me.

From these Iowa fields magic does arise,
listen to our guests, for they are often wise.
Come, walk with me! Or stroll in Troll Field,
the magic of our camp shall never be revealed.

Country Camp, where children run free.
Country Camp, where I long to be.
No other camp will ever be
what Country Camp means to me.
